What Happened at The World Biodiversity Forum 2026?

Biodiversity is increasingly recognized as a critical foundation for climate resilience, economic prosperity, and sustainable development.

On 17 June 2026, CCSF UI, represented by Dr. Sonny Mumbunan and Rafie Mohammad, participated in the World Biodiversity Forum, in Davos, Switzerland, a global platform that brings together researchers, policymakers, businesses, Indigenous Peoples, NGOs, and practitioners to exchange knowledge and explore solutions to biodiversity challenges. Under the theme "Leading Transformation Together," this year's forum emphasized the importance of turning biodiversity commitments into concrete actions and measurable impacts.

As biodiversity, climate, and finance become more interconnected, discussions at WBF 2026 explored topics ranging from biodiversity finance and nature-positive investments to policy innovation and implementation. Through its participation, CCSF UI contributed Indonesian perspectives to these global conversations and reaffirmed the importance of evidence-based research in advancing sustainable and inclusive development.
